Wika

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Wika is a very fearful and introverted female dog. She does not wag her tail when a human appears, and when we enter her enclosure, she hides in a safe doghouse and looks at us with her beautiful brown eyes full of sadness :( We would really like her to open up to contact and a little affection, but this is a dog that has been left to fend for herself from the start. She had to fight for herself from the beginning, and she was brought to us as a wild dog, so it's hard for her to break through her walls of fear. Whenever there is a space where I could escape, I prepare to run away, and I also have episodes of aggression, but this is more likely due to my fears :( Weight: 20kg Leash: no Relationship with dogs: positive She has been spayed, dewormed, de-flead, vaccinated, chipped, and registered in the Safe Animal database. She is staying at: Funny Pets Shelter in Czartki Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, łódzkie county, Poland

Przebywa w: Schronisko Funny Pets w Czartkach Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, woj. łódzkie

About Wika

What life with Wika looks like

Wika is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
