Wilde Hilde

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Age: born October 2018 | Gender: female | Short description: Free-roaming | I am Wilde Hilde and that's really how it is, at least at first. I am about 4 years old. Unfortunately, there isn't much more to say about me because no one here at the animal shelter knows my background. That's why no one knows why I'm so shy. But I will certainly become trusting once I can place my trust in my "forever humans." Here too, selected people can already touch me very, very slowly and carefully. By the way, I get along really well with other cats. In my future home, I would like to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. My only wishes, besides having my own home, are lots of chew sticks. I love them and can never get enough. I hope someone will come forward to meet me. I look forward to meeting you, your Wilde Hilde!

About Wilde Hilde

What life with Wilde Hilde looks like

Wilde Hilde is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Meinerzhagen / Kierspe e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wilde Hilde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wilde Hilde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Meinerzhagen / Kierspe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wilde Hilde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wilde Hilde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Meinerzhagen / Kierspe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wilde Hilde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wilde Hilde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Meinerzhagen / Kierspe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wilde Hilde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
