Wilder

Female

We recently took in two mothers with a total of seven babies from a private individual. Wilder is one of the babies. He is used to people and is social. He can be petted and it is okay to carry and handle him. Wilder has lived indoors his whole life, but has now been given access to an outdoor exercise yard. He can live either outdoors or indoors in his new home. He will be neutered at about 6 months of age. He can move to a new home before then, provided he is not to live with an unneutered female. Djurens Vänner Skåne will book a time for neutering, and thus cover the cost as long as the neutering is performed at the appointed time and place. We only place rabbits as free-roaming, alternatively to larger enclosures. At least 4.5 square meters. We do not place rabbits in cage keeping! Rabbits should always live in pairs or groups. They should be insured in their new homes.

SV·Show original

About Wilder

What life with Wilder looks like

Wilder is a adult rabbit waiting at Djurens Vanner Goteborg in Sweden.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wilder, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wilder?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Djurens Vanner Goteborg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wilder on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wilder if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Djurens Vanner Goteborg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wilder already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wilder isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Djurens Vanner Goteborg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wilder and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
