adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this dog now! Willa has found her luck! Her story: The little Willa belongs to what is known as the "Eleven Gang" – a cheerful pack of siblings who were rescued together with their mom. Their story is sad: The dog family lived on the streets, constantly in danger. When our animal welfare workers were already securing four other puppies from a crisis situation, they discovered Willa's mother in the middle of the street with her babies – one of the little ones had just been hit by a car and lay dead on the road. Looking away was impossible. Although the shelter in Fantanele is already bursting at the seams, we couldn't leave this vulnerable family to their fate. Willa is a typical puppy: happy, playful, curious, and full of life. Together with her siblings, she creates plenty of action in the shelter. The little ones are active, funny, and show the typical, age-appropriate behavior of puppy children – they play, wrestle, explore their world, and then fall asleep together in a puppy nap. Their mom takes care of the razzle-dazzle pack with love. Willa is a happy, open-minded puppy girl ready to explore the world. She is also simply charming optically. With her soft, light brown fur, the dark mask on her face, and her expressive, dark eyes, she melts hearts at first sight. Her delicate build and the sweet floppy ears give her a particularly affectionate look. Due to her appearance, a German Shepherd mix could be in her. At 4 months old and about 33 cm tall, she is expected to stay small to medium-sized. For Willa, we wish for a loving family that is aware of the responsibility of raising a puppy. She needs patience, time, consistent but sensitive upbringing, and lots of affection. A visit to a positively working dog training class would surely bring her joy and help her develop into a confident companion. She travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Due to her young age, she is not yet neutered. But she brings her EU pet passport with her for her travel arrangements. A positive review would also be a good start for her new life. Could you give this little sunbeam a safe home where she can arrive, grow, and simply be a dog? Many thanks Nele K.! You gave Willa her name and thus the chance at a safe life. As of: 04.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 04.03.2026

About Willa

What life with Willa looks like

Willa is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
