Willow

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 3 years

PLEASE NOTE - WILLOW IS LOCATED AT THE BRIDLINGTON RSPCA. Please read all about Willow before applying Meet Willow Willow was found with her 3 newborn kittens in a tiny, packed shed. It was incredibly unsafe. Thankfully, a kind lady spotted them and contacted us straight away. Understandably, Willow was terrified of people. But since arriving, she has made some amazing progress! She now comes to the front of her pen, is happy for us to be nearby and has even started taking Lick-e-Lix from us — a HUGE step for her! Now her kittens are off to their forever homes it’s Willow’s turn. But she needs a very special home. Ideally, we’re looking for an experienced, patient home willing to build her trust and confidence at her own pace. Watching a scared cat’s personality slowly blossom can be incredibly rewarding, but with understanding that changes don’t happen overnight or within a week! We will also consider a suitable rural/feral farm or stable home, provided Willow has daily food, care, veterinary treatment and the opportunity to come indoors. Willow isn’t a feral cat — she’s a scared cat who has been let down by humans before. Cattery life can be incredibly stressful for nervous cats, so let’s give Willow the chance to finally feel safe, loved and at home. Ideal Home; ADULT ONLY Home (unless you have experienced, calm children that will respect her space) Access to the outdoors when she’s ready Could live with cat savvy dogs Could live with other cats Needs patience and understanding Medical information; Could you be her forever family?

About Willow

What life with Willow looks like

Willow is a very small young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA York Home in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA York Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA York Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA York Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
