Winnie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Winnie, approximately 2 years old (born around 10/2024), 45 cm, female, spayed, still at the animal shelter in Poland. Winnie is looking for her patient favorite people❤️ Winnie is a slender and gentle young female dog. Currently, she is still very reserved with unfamiliar people and prefers to observe from a safe distance from the second row... her caregivers greet her with a tentative wag (and they melt!). Day by day, she explores a bit more of her new shelter environment, and becomes a bit bolder. She gets along very well with the dogs in her group. The caregivers are making every effort to show Winnie that she can feel safe and trust in Bogu. So we are looking for a quiet, manageable home for our sweet Winnie with patient people who will allow her to get to know the big, wide and above all new world at her own pace, together with her new favorite people! Ideally, there would also be a friendly dog companion who can give her orientation and security. Who falls in love with our sweet Winnie and gives her a cozy home to arrive, to feel safe, to learn trust, where she is lovingly challenged and promoted, where she can be both dog and family member. Winnie is there and will thank you as a gentle companion and best friend on 4 paws!

DE·Show original

About Winnie

What life with Winnie looks like

Winnie is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at home4dogs in Home4dogs.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Winnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Winnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. home4dogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Winnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Winnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — home4dogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Winnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Winnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with home4dogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Winnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
