Voor deze prachtige hond zijn we op zoek naar een nieuw baasje omdat ze nu in een omgeving woont waar ze zich totaal niet thuis voelt. Momenteel woont ze in een kinderrijke buurt waar veel te veel prikkels voor haar zijn waardoor ze vrijwel nooit echt rust heeft omdat ze haar roedel wil beschermen. We zoeken voor haar een rustig huis in een rustige omgeving, een boerderij of een terrein wat ze mag beschermen zodat ze tot rust kan komen en weer een vrolijke hond wordt. Winnie heeft duidelijk berghondenbloed waardoor ze altijd alert is op geluiden en beweging. Tijdens de castratie is ze volledig nagekeken door de dierenarts (inclusief foto’s) en er zijn geen lichamelijke oorzaken gevonden voor haar alerte gedrag. Onderstaand is de beschrijving van haar huidige baasjes: Winnie is een ontzettend lieve en zachtaardige hond, maar kan onzeker en reactief zijn. Deze onzekerheid vraagt om een geduldige en positieve benadering, waarbij beloningen zoals voertjes haar kunnen helpen om vertrouwen op te bouwen. Hoewel Winnie af en toe van spelen houdt, heeft ze soms een kleine aansporing nodig. Ze vindt het leuker om op een bot te kauwen en verkent/struint liever in de tuin dan dat ze lange wandelingen maakt. Een wandeling in de vroege ochtend vindt ze het fijnst omdat het dan rustig is. Ze kan met kinderen vanaf ongeveer 12 jaar. Daar is ze bekend mee. Ze vindt bezoek in huis spannend. Winnie blaft naar onbekende bezoekers, maar zodra ze vertrouwd is met iemand (de ene keer duurt het langer dan de andere keer), komt ze graag voor een aai. In haar eigen huis voelt ze zich veilig en beschouwt ze ons als haar roedel/kudde, wat maakt dat ze waaks is naar voorbijgangers en andere honden. Ze is altijd alert op wat er om haar heen gebeurt, in en om het huis. Buiten kan Winnie erg (reactief) reageren vanwege haar waakse aard. Ze is erg sterk op deze momenten en houdt haar daarom altijd aangelijnd. Tijdens wandelingen rondom het huis of in de straat is ze alert op voorbijgangers i. v. m. bescherming voor eigen omgeving. Winnie kan niet met alle honden overweg, maar oudere honden gaan vaak wel goed met haar samen. Het meegaan op bezoek, vooral binnenshuis, vindt ze erg spannend. Ze is dan niet comfortabel omdat het niet haar terrein is. Onverwachte harde geluiden zoals een vogelverjaagkanon of vuurwerk maken haar erg bang, ze wil dan direct naar huis terugkeren. Verder wandelen heeft dan geen zin, omdat ze dan vluchtgedrag vertoont en in paniek raakt. Vuurwerk maakt haar ook bijzonder angstig. Winnie voelt zich het meest op haar gemak in rustige omgevingen zoals een park, bos of andere rustige omgeving waar ze op eigen terrein kan/mag blijven.
