Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales

English Bulldog · Female

Please join us in welcoming mother-and-daughter duo, Winnie and Poppy We were contacted by a gentleman who had sadly become homeless and needed a safe place for his beloved girls, as he was no longer able to care for them. This is an incredibly heartbreaking situation, and we’re so grateful that we were able to help. Winnie and Poppy were completely adored by their owner, but sometimes life takes an unexpected turn. We ask that everyone responds with kindness and without judgment. Any negative comments will be removed. Winnie, the mama bear, is a beautiful, gentle soul at eight years old. She’s already showing us that she’s a little diva, but she’s also incredibly caring. Six-year-old Poppy is just like her mum! She’s already bossing around Denver, the resident pooch in her foster home—and we’re absolutely here for it! The girls are now settling into foster care with the wonderful Jade & her son, Tegwyn, and resident pooch Denver. Thank you, Jade, for your patience and compassion in welcoming them into your home. Taking on one foster is a big commitment, let alone two, and we appreciate you more than words can say. It’s already clear how loved the girls are with you. Winnie and Poppy will visit the vets this week for full assessments, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of their personalities shine through as they settle in over the coming weeks. For now, welcome to the family, beautiful girls! Please note: Winnie and Poppy have only just arrived in foster care and are not yet ready for adoption. Please do not submit applications for them at this stage, as any applications received will be removed from our database. For now, please join us in welcoming this handsome boy to the Geordie Bullies family and wishing him the very best as he begins this new chapter. About Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales

What life with Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales looks like

Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales is a large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Winnie Poppy – In foster – Wales and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
