Adopt Witch

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 6 years

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: White - Fur: short Neutered Tested FIV (AIDS) and FELV (Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and cat flu Health: Probably deaf or partially, otherwise all is well. At the shelter Hello everyone! I'm Witch! I arrived at the shelter on Halloween and was very shy, hence my name. The volunteers who take care of me realized that, like many white cats with blue eyes, I was unfortunately deaf. Imagine the stress that is constant. Picture yourself in my place: you don't hear people approaching, you are in an unknown place, you are scared and then someone touches you by surprise. I don't do it on purpose, but my reactions can seem a bit exaggerated when I am caught off guard: paws, startles... Read more... At the shelter, I have an awesome aunt who is trying to teach me sign language for cats: when to climb on a cushion, when to calm down... I am a nice cat, who needs to be in the company of one or more cat friends to feel secure. For now, I am closer to other animals of the same species than to humans, but I am learning to trust, especially thanks to treats which I am addicted to. I come to eat them from your hand, which I will lick to not miss a crumb. I love feeling the wind in my whiskers, and I would need a secure outside area (garden or terrace) because I don't hear the dangers approaching. However, due to my white color, I am very sensitive to sunburns on my ears and I would need either sunscreen (yes I am very serious, it's like you at the beach or hiking), or to stay protected in our house or apartment. I think the option of a hat and sunglasses for cats is not available yet. I would love to know the joy and security of a home, with a friend (or friends); a home with you who would continue to teach me a sign language just for us and who would be ready to adopt the ball of love that I am. I have tons of love to offer you, even if I don't show it right away by purring on your laps. We cats can express our attachment in other ways and I will know how to be a charming companion if you give me time to win you over. I am sure that you, super bipedal and big-hearted people, have read me and already fallen for my photos! I am waiting for you at the shelter and I am eager to meet you! About Witch

What life with Witch looks like

Witch is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Witch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Witch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Witch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Witch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Witch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Witch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Witch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
