Witje en Bruintje

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Witje and Bruintje are a sweet pair of 2-year-old rabbits. Witje is a female and Bruintje is a neutered male. Unfortunately, they ended up in the shelter due to lack of time, and now they are looking for a nice new home together. These two have always been together and are inseparable. Therefore, they are only placed together. They are looking for a person who can give them all the time, space, and love they deserve. In their previous home, they enjoyed a nice outdoor enclosure with an adjacent run. They would like to have such a nice place in their new home again. Enough space to hop around, explore, and stretch their legs is very important for this pair. One of their favorite spots? A nice willow tunnel! They like to lie there together, enjoying each other's company. Will you give Witje and Bruintje a beautiful new future with a spacious and nice home? Then these two sweet rabbits hope that they can find their new home with you!

NL·Show original

About Witje en Bruintje

What life with Witje en Bruintje looks like

Witje en Bruintje is a young adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem in Netherlands.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Frequently asked

Adopting Witje en Bruintje, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Witje en Bruintje?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Witje en Bruintje on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Witje en Bruintje if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Witje en Bruintje already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem directly what is included and what Witje en Bruintje still needs.
What happens if Witje en Bruintje isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Witje en Bruintje and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
