adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Wodka has already found its home! His story: May we introduce? Wodka, a young, charming puppy, at five months old and in the prime of his life, is ready to storm the hearts of people. Animal rescuer Meda found him in Bistrița and took him in immediately so he could grow up in safety and finally be a carefree puppy. Wodka is an alert, cheerful little fellow with bright eyes, a sweet mischievous look, and a good dose of curiosity. He loves to play, snuggle, and discover new things. His puppy-like friendliness shows to both people and other dogs, and his gentle nature makes him a small treasure that immediately wins hearts. With five months old, Wodka is in the young puppy phase – and puberty is not far off. This means he is soaking everything up, trying things out, and sometimes questioning them. He still needs to learn the complete puppy ABC: house training, walking on a leash, small everyday rules, relaxed alone time, and orientation to his people. Wodka is clever and wants to please, so with loving consequences, patience, and positive dog training classes, he will make rapid progress. His confident yet friendly character makes him an ideal companion for people who want an active, joyful dog life. Whether walks, playtime, small adventures, or cozy snuggling – the little man is up for everything and accompanies his people with a lot of heart, joy, and willingness to learn. For Wodka, we wish a home that gives him security, clarity, and love. People who enjoy showing a young puppy the world and mastering puberty with humor, understanding, and structure. With the right mix of closeness, routine, stimulation, and loving guidance, Wodka will definitely become a wonderful family dog. Wodka is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport and thanks Martina K. for not only giving this sweet puppy a name but also an important step toward his future.

About Wodka

What life with Wodka looks like

Wodka is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wodka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wodka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wodka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wodka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wodka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wodka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wodka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
