Wolf

Male · Young · 2 years

My name may sound tough, but I'm actually a very sensitive and insecure little guy. ❤️ I ended up at the shelter as a foundling. Nobody knows exactly where I come from or what I went through in my previous life. And you can tell… I'm very anxious and mostly need a lot of time, patience and trust. I am curious, though! 👀 It's just that my curiosity comes with a good dose of caution. First I watch from a safe distance, then maybe a small step closer, and then a step back again. But one thing I can reveal already: I am absolutely not a naughty dog. I "knead" and I don't bite. I'm just very quick to be impressed and still have a lot of trust to build with people. If you give me time, I believe a very sweet dog is waiting inside me to be discovered. 🥰 My new home needs to be calm and above all have a lot of patience. I still have a lot to learn, and all of that has to happen very carefully and step by step. House-training, walking on the leash, staying home alone… for me those are all still new chapters in the big dog book. 📖🐶 I also have a sensitive tummy. That's why I'm currently on frozen raw food, because with other food my stool quickly becomes far too enthusiastically liquid. 💩🙈 A home with a garden is essential, with a sturdy and safe fence of at least 1.80 meters. After all, I am a dog who still has a lot to learn, and safety is very important to me. 🏡

About Wolf

What life with Wolf looks like

Wolf is a small young adult dog waiting at Dierenasiel Ninove in Ninove.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wolf, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wolf?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ninove handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wolf on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wolf if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Ninove will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Wolf already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wolf isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ninove early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wolf and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
