Wolter

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Name: Wolter Breed: Mixed Age: 2021 Gender: Male Size: Large Weight: 40 kg Wolter is an impressive dog who came to us from the commune of Długosiodło. From the moment you meet him, it’s clear that he’s friendly and open to making new acquaintances. Wolter is very robust, so at first glance he might seem intimidating—but in reality, he’s gentle and calm. He enjoys walking on a leash, is confident, and explores his surroundings with curiosity. He’s neither withdrawn nor shy; he feels comfortable in human company. Wolter is capable of showing plenty of affection and gratitude. He loves being close to people and never hesitates to offer warm, heartfelt gestures. He appears well-groomed and well-cared for—a dog who will surely be a wonderful companion for his future family. DON’T BUY—ADOPT! A DOG THAT ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS SUBJECT TO A 14-DAY QUARANTINE PERIOD. If, during this time, the owner doesn’t come to collect him, the dog will be vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and we’ll start looking for a new guardian for him. The conditions for adoption include completing the questionnaire available on our website, agreeing to a pre- or post-adoption home visit, and signing an adoption agreement. About Wolter

What life with Wolter looks like

Wolter is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wolter, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wolter?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wolter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wolter if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wolter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wolter isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wolter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
