Womble

Male · Adult · 9 years

Meet Womble! Womble is an enchanting,. beautiful and sensitive soul who found cattery life a little overwhelming to begin with. We sent him off to live with a lovely foster carer who was willing to show him lots of patience and consistency. It took him around six weeks to start feeling comfortable, but once he learnt to trust again, he has shown us what an incredibly forgiving and gorgeously affectionate boy he is. This may be the similar case when moving to a new home, so he will require a dedicated settling room to help him settle in comfortably. The Rehoming team will provide guidance on how to set this space up to ensure he has the best chance of settling well. Patience is rewarding with Womble, and when he has formed bonds he is a gentle, social cat. Lately, he's shown how much safer he feels by snoozing, contentedly, in his foster carers lap. A quieter home, with predictable routine will be best for Womble. He's looking for a family with adults (and if children aged teenager and above), who can respect his boundaries and give him the time he needs to find his paws and gradually build his confidence. Although not participating in Wimbledon's tennis courts, once settled, he particularly enjoys playing with his string toy! Treats, and gentle, calm play will be a great way to build bonds and trust. Could lovely Womble be your perfect match? ❤️ Womble will also need access to a private garden and will not be suited to living with other animals. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Womble, you can e-mail our rehoming team on () to register your interest. the cat you have contacted us about.

About Womble

What life with Womble looks like

Womble is a medium-sized adult cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Womble, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Womble?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Womble on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Womble if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Womble already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Womble isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Womble and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
