Woody (auf Probe)

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 2 months

Little cat Woody is looking for big happiness Woody came to our shelter with his four siblings. Since the kittens were found without their mother, they are currently being lovingly cared for and raised by a foster family. Woody is a curious, playful kitten and is already accustomed to interacting with humans. At the foster home, he grows up with other cats and gets to know everyday noises and routines. We wish Woody a loving home where he can move in with one of his siblings or an existing social cat. Because like all small cats, Woody needs a suitable cat friend to play, cuddle and grow up with. Since Woody is currently living in a foster home, an acquaintance is possible by prior appointment.

About Woody (auf Probe)

What life with Woody (auf Probe) looks like

Woody (auf Probe) is a large kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Gardelegen in Gardelegen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Woody (auf Probe), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Woody (auf Probe)?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Gardelegen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Woody (auf Probe) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Woody (auf Probe) if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Gardelegen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Woody (auf Probe) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Woody (auf Probe) isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Gardelegen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Woody (auf Probe) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
