Wotsit

Male Β· Puppy Β· 2 months

Meet gorgeous Wotsit, one of our adorable Crisp Pups! Wotsit arrived at Battersea with his brothers and sisters as part of an accidental litter, so unfortunately we have no information about his background or parents. He is easily recognisable thanks to the rather lovely stripe running down his nose! Wotsit enjoys a fuss but is also happy snoozing in a comfy spot. He is the cheekiest of the litter, though, and can become frustrated when things don't go his way. He has shown the strongest working-breed characteristics of his siblings and has growled and snapped when frustrated, so he will need an experienced home that understands these behaviours and can help him learn to manage his emotions as he grows. We believe Wotsit may be a Lurcher cross Belgian Malinois. While we can't be certain of his breed, his new owners should have experience with working breeds, and understand the needs of an intelligent, potentially high-energy dog who will require plenty of mental stimulation, training and appropriate outlets for his energy. As Wotsit is still very young and hasn't been able to meet many dogs while awaiting his vaccinations, we're still learning how he feels about them. He has played and snoozed alongside his siblings and could potentially live with a confident, tolerant adult dog who can cope with puppy behaviours and act as a role model. He may also be able to live with cats or other pets, provided they can tolerate a playful puppy and introductions are managed carefully. Although Wotsit has been happy meeting people and has shown no general sensitivities to handling, he has been particularly mouthy during play and has shown frustration towards handlers. For this reason, he would be best suited to an adult-only home. Wotsit will need a private garden where he can begin toilet training, practise his training in a secure space and gradually get used to the outside world as he becomes fully vaccinated. He could live in a range of locations, provided his owners can give him gradual, positive exposure to things like traffic and public transport. Wotsit has lots of growing and learning ahead of him, and will need patient, dedicated owners who understand working-breed traits and are ready to put time into his training and development. With the right experience and support, he has the opportunity to grow into a wonderful companion. About Wotsit

What life with Wotsit looks like

Wotsit is a medium-sized puppy dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wotsit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wotsit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wotsit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wotsit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Wotsit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wotsit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wotsit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
