Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Xamira is a female who quietly sneaks into the heart and remains there. With her calm, loving nature and gentle character, she touches people immediately. Once she has gained trust, she can never get enough closeness and attention. She loves to be petted, enjoys every bit of attention and appears pleasant, balanced and calm. Xamira also walks very nicely on the leash and meets her surroundings attentively and relaxedly. The beautiful female dog is also particularly happy about treats. Her journey, however, began anything but safely. Xamira was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau - a place where, due to overcrowding, dogs are still being killed. For many dogs, this is the end of all hope. Xamira could have suffered the same fate. It is all the more beautiful to see how quickly she started to trust and show her loving side after her rescue. In the first days after her rescue, Xamira was still somewhat reserved and cautious. However, she quickly understood that nothing more would happen to her and developed into an incredibly affectionate female dog who literally absorbs the closeness to humans. Behind her gentle nature is a dog who simply wants to belong and finally be loved. Xamira gets along well with other dogs. She has not yet met cats. With a height of about 39 cm at the shoulders and around 18 kg, she has a pleasant medium size and would thus be a wonderful companion for many living situations. For Xamira, we wish people with hearts who will show her that her difficult start is finally behind her. People who appreciate her gentle soul and give her the security she so greatly longs for. Xamira has so much love to give - all that is missing now is a home where she can finally arrive. Xamira travels spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas, as well as with an EU pet passport to her new home. After a positive pre-check, she can be adopted for a fee. Also, a foster home would help Xamira finally experience the nice sides of a dog's life. Thank you, Eva H.! You gave Xamira her special name! Date: 15.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Eva H.! Du hast Xamira ihren besonderen Namen geschenkt! About Xamira

What life with Xamira looks like

Xamira is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Xamira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Xamira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Xamira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Xamira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Xamira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Xamira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Xamira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
