Xandra

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

Xandra, a female dog born in April 2026, eagerly awaits her chance to leave the shelter. Unfortunately, the young dog has known nothing but life in a shelter. Young dogs should be able to discover the world, experience security, and be part of a loving family. Xandra stands out not only for her bright coat but also for her particularly cute beard. With her friendly demeanor and loving nature, she captures hearts. She is playful, curious, and enjoys attention. She particularly loves human contact and seeks her proximity. Of course, Xandra still has much to learn, as she has never experienced life in a home. Life in a house or apartment, everyday noises like vacuum cleaners, TVs, or kitchen appliances, and the usual routines of a family are still foreign to her. She will learn all this step by step. Like any young dog, Xandra will not be house-trained immediately. Being left alone must also be built up carefully. Her future family should therefore understand that the adjustment takes time and not everything will work out perfectly from day one. Currently, Xandra measures about 35 cm at the shoulder. We assume she will grow to about 45 to 50 cm in height when fully grown. We cannot predict her final size exactly. We wish for Xandra people who are willing to walk the path with her and give her a loving home for the next 14 to 15 years. The puppy period is a very special phase full of beautiful shared experiences, exciting discoveries, and small learning successes. With patience, love, and a good dose of humor, the happy dog girl will surely become a wonderful companion for life. Especially with winter approaching, we wish for Xandra that she can leave the shelter soon. A warm bed, loving people, and the security of her own home would be the greatest happiness for her. We wish for Xandra people who open their hearts for her and show her how beautiful a sheltered dog life can be. People who give her warmth, security, and love and welcome her as a full-fledged family member. Xandra is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. Due to her age, she has not yet been spayed. Xandra can be adopted immediately! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so we can always assess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a possible good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines, and new impressions - can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs open up in the home even faster and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

About Xandra

What life with Xandra looks like

Xandra is a small puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Xandra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Xandra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Xandra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Xandra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Xandra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Xandra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Xandra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
