Adopt XENON

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 10 years

Born in 2016, XENON is a big bear – a wonderful, gentle dog with an attractive look. On walks, he looks back at the caregiver and runs to get a treat. He likes walks of moderate length, so we are looking for a moderately active home. On walks, he moves forward eagerly, as if he can't wait for a walk in the forest and new adventures that await there. He is happy then, and how amusingly he dances when you scratch his back! A very positive large dog who doesn't pull on the leash, walks nicely and isn't closed off to people. He can sometimes climb up on his hind legs to nuzzle and cuddle like a bear! However, he is not a grizzly bear! And for treats, he will do a lot! Willing to learn commands using them, but above all, like a big bear, he needs his people to whom he will give his big bear heart. Despite health problems, this is a dog who enjoys life and wants to be close to people.

Rok urodzenia: 2016 Xenon to duży misiu – wspaniały, łagodny pies z przyciągającym spojrzeniem.

About XENON

What life with XENON looks like

XENON is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting XENON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about XENON?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw XENON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt XENON if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is XENON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if XENON isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know XENON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
