Yamakasi

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 2 years

Type/Race: European (non LOOF) Age: born on 22/05/2024 Chip number: 642090002253778 History: Released from the Datcha shelter in Romania. He was found abandoned near a supermarket, sitting at the entrance, trying to attract the attention of passersby. While some people stopped to pet him, others almost walked over him. Ignoring him completely. Despite this, Yamakasi, always eager for love, stood on his hind legs, like a dog, just to enjoy the few moments of affection he received. Also, realizing the danger he was in, wandering near the wheels of a car, a lover of animals rescued him and put him in safety. Personality: Yamakasi is an extremely affectionate and loving kitten. Indeed, he loves human attention, cuddles and shows his affection in every possible way. Yamakasi is very sociable and is not afraid of people. He fits perfectly into his foster family, where he gets along wonderfully with other animals. But he has become particularly friends with Vodka, a puppy living in the same foster family, and they love to play together. As an exception, we are therefore looking for a double adoption. His cheerful and affectionate nature, as well as his unique bond with Vodka, make him the ideal choice for someone looking for two warm and loving companions. Adoption fee: 135€ (membership included) for him + 282 € for Vodka It is entirely possible to adopt outside of France. The adopter must also be able to go to the foster family to meet the animal. Tested FIV/FELV: YES, negative Vaccinated: YES + rabies and passport To adopt, please complete this form: and insofar as it is mandatory, have it completed before any meeting by a veterinarian or an ASV and present it to us after it has been signed: Finally, this cat does not suit you or is no longer available? About Yamakasi

What life with Yamakasi looks like

Yamakasi is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Action 4 Pets in action 4 pets.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yamakasi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yamakasi?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yamakasi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yamakasi if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yamakasi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yamakasi isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yamakasi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
