Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Yara has found her forever home! Her story: Yara, a young female dog of 5 months and about 35 cm, exudes a special aura. One might think she is the embodiment of calmness on four legs – during the photoshoot, she appeared completely relaxed with a cool, slightly bored look that only enhanced her charm! Visually, she is a true sight for sore eyes: her glossy black fur, with an elegant white chest and beautiful, contrasting brown legs, is simply stunning. And her cute floppy ears? They make her look perfect. Yara was found with her brother on a field and has managed to retain her wonderful personality: she is loving, friendly, and totally uncomplicated. In her foster home with our animal rescuer Ana, she shows that she is a social model student: she gets along super well with other dogs and even with cats. She might fit harmoniously into an existing pack. At 5 months old, Yara is now starting the phase where her personality truly blossoms. She is highly motivated to understand the world – from leash training to relaxed alone time. Now is the time for playful learning, clear structure, and especially: lots of positive reinforcement. This phase flows seamlessly into the turbulent puberty! Once her hormones start kicking in around 6 months, even the usually calm Yara might test her limits, develop sudden "deafness," or suddenly forget things she could do long ago. This is an important developmental phase that requires patience and humor. We are looking for people who are willing to accept this challenge with a smile. Perhaps you might also be interested in attending dog training classes and guiding Yara into adulthood with loving but consistent guidance. Yara eagerly awaits in her foster home to be seen. Ready for the adventure with this charming young lady? Yara travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with her EU pet passport to her new home. Even a foster home would make her incredibly happy. Many thanks to Susann G., who gave Yara the beautiful name and thus provided her with an identity. As of: 13.11.

Stand: 13.11.2025

About Yara

What life with Yara looks like

Yara is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
