YIN

Female · Kitten · 2 months

Yin and Yang came to our shelter together as strays. Both are female European Shorthair cats. Yin and Yang are looking for a quiet and loving home together in an apartment setting. They would be very happy with a securely fenced balcony, although this is not a requirement. They are not compatible with other cats, but they form a close duo and should therefore stay together. Currently, Yin and Yang are still shy and cautious. However, they are slowly building trust in people and making steady progress. Their new owners should be aware that they still need time, patience, and gentle handling. If their boundaries are respected and they feel safe, they will show their young and playful side. Bigger, understanding children are possible in the new home, as long as they handle the cats calmly and respect their need for retreat. Yin and Yang are too young for spaying/neutering. This must be done at the right time in the new home with their own veterinarian. We are very happy that maybe soon one of our protégés will find a new home with you.

DE·Show original

About YIN

What life with YIN looks like

YIN is a kitten cat waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting YIN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about YIN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw YIN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt YIN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is YIN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if YIN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know YIN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
