Yoda

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Yoda the Schnauzer-Mix boy, was found alone in San Pedro and putting together a few puzzle pieces, we believe he comes from vagabundos, travelling people or ocupas, like Schnuki, a copy-paste version of Yoda who arrived to the shelter a month earlier, also without a microchip. Yoda is most likely Schnuki's brother, as the veterinary estimates them to be of a same age, and they become instant best friends when they saw each other, so we believe they are from the same litter, and each ended up with homeless people. How many more siblings there are out there, we cannot know.... Yoda is the smaller, slimmer, and softer of the two brothers. They both are very human-friendly, they love to go for walks, running in the dog parks, and just spending any time possible with the humans and together with each other. Our team often sees them gently wrestling in the kennel together, or laying and licking each other, they are very affectionate and support each other in the stress of the shelter. Both Schnuki and Yoda are confident, cheerful and playful - and will do great as single dogs of a family, or join a home with another playful dog already present. Of course it would be fantastic for them to go to a home together, however in that case the home would have to be a very capable home, to take care of, train and handle 2 teenage boys at the same time. When comparing Schnuki & Yoda, then firstly the similarities are that they both are puppy-type of playful, and jumpy when excited, and they both still need education and training, of course. They are both friendly with other social dogs, and also both listen quite quickly when it comes to setting boundaries and understanding what is wished of them and what not. Both Schnuki & Yoda have met children, and after their first bursts of energy is out (after waiting for a long time in their kennel), then they are so lovely, calm, soft and kind with children - kissing kisses and paw to kids, it is sweet to see. Yoda has not been on a day out of the shelter yet, like his brother, so we do not know many detailed things about him yet, but we know he is a wonderful dog with a kind, children-loving character, and that he will be an excellent family dog. He will be fine to be an only dog of the family, however in this case we wish that regular dog contact is provided for him, so he has companionship of other canines and maintains good relations towards other dogs as he grows up. Yoda would also definitely enjoy to go to a home with another dog already waiting for him, either an older sibling to play with him, but as he is a softer boy of the two brothers, gentler, more submissive, then he could also be a brother to a smaller, softer, maybe even a fearful, shy dog - and share his cheerfulness and joy for life with the more quiet sibling, supporting them in life. Yoda is so lovely with humans and would make an excellent dog for a medium-active family, that preferably has previous dog experience, however if the family has motivation for engaging in dog school activities, then he could also be considered to join a first-dog home, just that in this case noone in the family should be afraid of dogs, because Yoda is playful, he loves to put his paws on your hips to get closer to you, and kiss you all over your face. Yoda's shoulder height is 55cm.

About Yoda

What life with Yoda looks like

Yoda is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yoda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yoda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yoda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yoda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yoda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yoda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yoda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
