adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this cat! Yoru has found a home! His story: Yoru had a tough start in life. In the summer, he and his sister were abandoned on the grounds of a kindergarten when they were about two months old. Unfortunately, his sister did not make it. Since then, Yoru has been in the care of Ildiko and enjoys the safety of her foster home. The company of other cats especially brings him joy. During the initial examination, the left upper canine was missing and showed signs of advanced healing. A small, fine redness and gingivitis stage 1 were noted in the area of the left upper premolars. The patient ate normally, and the area around the teeth was not painful upon palpation. To reduce gum inflammation, Yoru was treated for 7 days. After treatment, the gum inflammation had completely subsided. On the follow-up examination, the findings of the oral cavity examination were unremarkable. Characteristically, Yoru is an absolute treasure. He is very calm, friendly, and seeks contact with people, but prefers to decide when closeness is pleasant. Being picked up by someone is not something he enjoys; he prefers cuddles and attention at his own pace. Yoru has not met any dogs yet. A free run is not an option for him. He should enjoy the safety and stability of a suitable home for apartment living. A cat-safe netted balcony where he can observe his surroundings would be a welcome change. For his travel arrangements, Yoru is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He is FIV and FeLV negative. After a positive match, the adopter will receive a calm, loving tomcat who, despite his early misfortune, has gained trust and is ready to open his heart in a safe home.

About Yoru

What life with Yoru looks like

Yoru is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yoru, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yoru?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yoru on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yoru if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yoru already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yoru isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yoru and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
