Yuki

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Yuki’s story is one that tugs at the heart. He arrived with us as a found dog – well-groomed, microchipped, with hope that he would soon return to his human. The owner got in touch, saying that someone was taking care of him and would come to pick Yuki up. We waited. Days passed, the phone remained silent. No one showed up. No one came to claim Yuki or returned our calls. After nearly a year, we finally reached the owner. She bluntly said she no longer wanted him. And so, Yuki, the home dog, loyal, devoted, after years spent with a human – found himself in the animal shelter. Yet, he still greets everyone with a wag of his tail. He knows his commands, responds to words as if waiting only for that one moment when someone might say to him, "Yuki, we’re going home." He is grateful, content, and full of life, though he had every right to be bitter at the world. Yuki deserves a second chance. Perhaps it’s us, humans, who deserve it in his eyes. We are looking for a home – urgently. A home that won’t let him down.

Szukamy domu - pilnie.Domu, który nie zawiedzie.

About Yuki

What life with Yuki looks like

Yuki is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Skałowo in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Skałowo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Skałowo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Skałowo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
