adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this cat! Yukina is unfortunately escaped…we hope she is doing well. Her story: Yukina was found outdoors in the cold, alone in search of a safe place. She immediately found warmth and adapted problemlessly to the existing cat group from the start. Yukina is a bundle of curiosity, joy, and love. She loves attention but also enjoys retreating to observe everything in peace. Play, cuddle sessions, and small discovery trips are her favorite activities. Additionally, she is very communicative: as soon as you engage with her, she “speaks” and clearly shows when she wants attention. A small extra: Yukina is a passionate gourmet – she loves her food, and she enjoys every meal to the fullest. Yukina gets along well with other cats and is also dog-friendly. She should not be kept as a single cat. She values contact with fellow animals very much. So far, she has only known life suitable for apartment living, which means it wouldn’t be a problem for her to continue without a yard. Especially if the new home is cat-friendly and perhaps even offers a cat-safe balcony, she would be lacking nothing. If the environment allows, she can also get to know the neighborhood after a proper adjustment. Her travel arrangements are that Yukina is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport of course. She is FIV and FeLV negative. After a positive assessment, she would also make a wonderful start in a new chapter with a foster home. Whoever chooses Yukina gets a playful, cuddly, and lovable cat who enriches every day with curiosity and affection.

About Yukina

What life with Yukina looks like

Yukina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yukina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yukina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yukina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yukina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yukina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yukina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yukina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
