Yuna

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Yuna (born 03/2025, approx. 42 cm tall) was rescued together with her three puppies from the dreadful killing station Husi, near the Moldovan border. Of course, this has left its mark on her: the gentle mother dog was very thin and weakened when she was rescued. Due to nutritional deficiencies, she also suffers from skin problems, which are already being treated. Slowly, the dear dog is regaining her strength and can begin to get to know the beautiful sides of life. Since her puppies will soon be old enough to move into their own families, Yuna, too, is finally wishing for her very own happiness. She deserves to finally experience what it feels like to be safe, loved and cared for. That is why we are looking for a loving foster home for this shy and friendly dog, or even better, a loving forever home right away, with people who will let her arrive at her own pace. We cannot say whether Yuna already knows life in a house. Many everyday sounds and routines will probably still be unfamiliar to her. She will also not yet know being left alone and will need to learn it gently. Former street dogs in particular need a great deal of security, patience, care and understanding at first. The settling-in period can sometimes be a little slower, but that makes it all the more rewarding to accompany her on her way and witness her progress. A confident and friendly first dog can be a valuable support in this process and give Yuna orientation in her new everyday life. Yuna will probably also still need to learn to be alone. With calm, patience and gentle training, Yuna will step by step understand that her people always come back to her and that she does not need to worry. Who will give this lovable dog mama the chance for a fresh start and show her how beautiful a secure dog's life can be? We look forward to hearing from you! Yuna is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-screening. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can continually reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in giving the best possible picture of each individual dog. However, we would like to point out that a dog may show a different side in a new environment – with new people, new routines and new impressions. This is entirely normal and part of every process of change. Many dogs open up even faster at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee of any particular behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced that with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

Yuna (geb.

About Yuna

What life with Yuna looks like

Yuna is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yuna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
