Yuna

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Yuna and 15 other dogs come from a seizure at a puppy mill. All of them were misused for illegal breeding for their entire lives until now, and when they arrived with us, some were in catastrophic conditions of care and health. Our team has nursed them back to health, and they are now ready for their forever homes. We suspect that Yuna, Luna & Joe are siblings. We cannot say exactly which breeds may be in them. Our team believes that the three are Pompoos (a mix of Spitz/Pomeranian & Poodle or Maltese). All three fluffballs are super bright and full of energy. At the same time, you can tell that they have not been able to get to know much of the world so far. Yuna is presumably the calmest of the three. Given her age, she is of course still playful and very alert, but compared to her siblings she settles down a bit more. Yuna is used to living with other dogs and would be very happy to have a confident, similarly sized, playful canine buddy in her new home. She is still unsure around people at first and needs some time to build trust. An open, experienced resident dog could help her settle in. The young mixed-breed female, of course, also likes to test her boundaries: she is still young and has a lot to learn. Her new owners should therefore be ready to teach her the basics of dog behavior and, if necessary, attend a dog school with her. Children should be at least 10 years old and bring dog experience. A quieter living environment in the countryside or on the outskirts of the city would be ideal so that she can gradually get used to all the new stimuli. Yuna is a real diamond in the rough with a not-so-good start in life. She now needs people by her side who won't pity her but will support her in becoming a confident lady of a dog. Yuna can travel abroad immediately. Would you like to adopt Yuna? Then simply fill out the application form! NOTE: All dogs are being placed simultaneously by the German and Hungarian teams. Reservations may occur on both sides.

About Yuna

What life with Yuna looks like

Yuna is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Spitz und Pawtners e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Spitz und Pawtners e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Spitz und Pawtners e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yuna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Spitz und Pawtners e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
