Adopt Yup

Mixed Breed · Male

Yup is a really cute special and especially social dog who really just wants his own spot. Yup is a gem, gets along with all dogs, loves playing, and is super sweet. Yup has already been placed twice and came back both times for the same reason. In the beginning, Yup is a stress plasser. If there’s a change, he pees out of stress. This goes away after a few days, but some people don’t want to wait. This is also the reason we don’t want to place Yup in an apartment but with people who have a yard. If Yup has a tendency to pee, it’s much easier if he’s already on the ground floor and there’s a yard available. Poor Yup was turned down because of this, while it’s really just a short-term problem. Yup gets special food because he used to have struvite in his urine in the past. This is now completely gone, and we have the test results from our vet. Yup looks absolutely beautiful, is a smart boy, and really wants to be with an owner. Could you give this darling the chance and work on the bond between dog and owner? Do you understand that sometimes it can be a lot for a dog to adjust and that he just needs a bit more time than 24 hours? Then we’re looking for you. Yup will be welcomed with open paws and will show how incredibly great he is and how utterly worth the effort. Call: 06-50800245 or fill out the form:

About Yup

What life with Yup looks like

Yup is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Huis voor Dieren in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yup, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yup?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Huis voor Dieren handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yup on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yup if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Huis voor Dieren will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yup already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yup isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Huis voor Dieren early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yup and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
