When we welcomed Żabka to our shelter, she was wild, severely undernourished, and matted. She avoided contact with humans. She felt safest hidden under the shed, where she waited for the caregivers to leave. Only then did she have the courage to approach the bowl, eat, and drink water. Invisible. Forgotten. Terrified. But time, patience, and the enormous effort began to bear fruit. Today, Żabka goes out into her run, which she shares with her friendly, blind companion Dino. She greets the Volunteers with barking, approaching and taking treats from their hands. Slowly, she learns that a human can mean safety, not threat. Żabka is a dog who makes a huge step forward every day, even though her entire life told her it wasn't worth it.

Gdy powitaliśmy Żabkę w AMI, była dzikim, skrajnie niedożywionym i zapchlonym pieskiem. Unikała kontaktu z człowiekiem. Najbezpieczniej czuła się ukryta pod budą, gdzie czekała, aż Opiekunowie się oddalą. Dopiero wtedy miała odwagę, by podejść do miski, zjeść i napić się wody. Niewidzialna. Zapomniana. Przerażona. Ale czas, cierpliwość i ogrom pracy zaczęły przynosić efekty. Dziś Żabka wychodzi na swój wybieg, który dzieli z zaprzyjaźnionym, niewidomym Dino. Szczekaniem wita Wolontariuszy, sama podchodzi i bierze smaczki z ręki. Powoli uczy się, że człowiek może oznaczać bezpieczeństwo, a nie zagrożenie. Żabka to pies, który każdego dnia robi ogromny krok naprzód, choć całe życie mówiło jej, że nie warto.
