Zadra

Female · Adult · 5 years

Zadra is looking for an active home! Zadra is an approximately 5-year-old female dog, weighing about 23 kg, who was taken off the leash. She is gentle, friendly and social. She is also energetic and curious, eager to explore the world and needs activity. She can walk on a leash, but she pulls, so she will require further training and work in this area. She gets along well with other dogs, although she can be possessive at the bowl, so this should be kept in mind. Due to her energy, we are looking for a home without small children or with children over 12 years of age. Zadra needs an active caregiver who will provide her with exercise, proper handling and show her what a good life with a human looks like. The description is based on observations of the dog in the animal shelter. Zadra is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. Registration number in the animal shelter: 31/26 female dog is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and spayed.

Zadra szuka aktywnego domu! About Zadra

What life with Zadra looks like

Zadra is a large adult dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zadra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zadra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zadra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zadra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zadra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zadra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zadra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
