Adopt Zah

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 9 years

Zah was a sick cat sold for 20€ through an ad we couldn't attend due to lack of resources and moving. We thought the ad was at least peculiar and decided to find out more. That's how we met Zah: we took him in and began the veterinary testing journey to discover he has both environmental and food allergies, requiring special food and some veterinary check-ups. Despite everything he's been through, Zah has shown from the very first moment that he is a very, very affectionate, grateful... compatible with dogs, cats, children... and anyone who wants to love him???. Zah is not only a beauty in every sense, but a loving cat that will fill the family that wants to adopt him with love and joy. Zah is special, not because of his allergies but because he is like this and without a doubt, he deserves a family as wonderful as he is. If it's yours, don't wait any longer: adopt Zah!???? If you can't take him in or adopt, help us spread the word, share, give a like… You never know which "share" will lead to finding him a home.

About Zah

What life with Zah looks like

Zah is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
