ZARA

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Senior · 10 years

A dog in the Amstaff type, age 10 years old. Appearance: dark brown with white markings, graying. Character: spirited, cheerful, domesticated, well-bred, a single dog. Health: allergy, dental problems. Location: dog hotel, Syski. Contact for adoption: +48 501 797 018, Adoption form -> HERE Dear friends, perhaps among you are AST veterans who remember our Zara. Today, after 9 years since her adoption, due to the situation of the owners, the dog is again under the care of our foundation. So we are looking for a safe haven for Zara again. And we strongly hold our fingers crossed that this time it will be a home forever. What is Zara? It's a mega spirited, cheerful girl in the Amstaff type. She loves walks and human contact. In contacts with people she is delicate, also finds her place well with calm children who can respect dog space. At home Zara maintains cleanliness, does not destroy, rests peacefully and leaves alone without problems. On walks she does not pull on the leash, comes to a call and calmly passes by encountered dogs. Neither those barking behind the fence nor suddenly jumping out into the road troublemakers bother her. However, at home we recommend that she be a single dog. Despite her age and overweight (which we are already fighting) Zara is really an active girl. She will find herself best in a quiet home, by the side of a stable, consistent guide who can take care of the dog's needs well and knows how to communicate clearly. Health-wise Zara has mild allergies. We also have dental issues to settle. The biggest challenge for Zara is traveling by car, which is not one of her favorite activities. Zara is currently 10 years old. She lives in a hotel called Hotel for Animals Zwierzogród, where she is beautifully taken care of, but she really dreams of a home with her own super human. We are looking for both temporary and permanent homes for her. In the case of DT our foundation supports the maintenance and treatment of the dog. If you feel that you can give Zara a place in your life, please contact us. The grandmother deserves a real Happy End. +48 501 797 018

sunia w typie amstaffa, wiek 10 lat. Wygląd: ciemnobrązowa, białe znaczenia, posiwiała.Charakter: dziarska, pogodna, domowa, wychowana, psia jedynaczka.Zdrowie: alergia, problemy stomatologiczne. To mega dziarska, pogodna babeczka w typie amstaffa. Uwielbia spacery i kontakt z człowiekiem.

About ZARA

What life with ZARA looks like

ZARA is a senior american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting ZARA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ZARA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ZARA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ZARA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ZARA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ZARA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) early rather than rehoming privately; they know ZARA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
