Adopt Zaz

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

🐾 Zaz 🐾 Zaz is looking for a home where she can mainly spend time outdoors. She is in fact more of a "farm cat," which means she is not a social cuddle cat. For her, we are looking for a place where she can walk around, play, catch mice, and especially where she has a safe hiding place with a daily portion of food. Are you looking for a cat for your garden, farm, etc.? They are microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. They have also been tested for feline AIDS and leukemia. What does this mean? For this treasure, we are looking for a home where she can mainly spend time outdoors. They are not social cuddle cats that want to live inside the house. It is always possible that farm cats become more social over time, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee this. What is Zaz looking for? * A place where she can simply live outdoors * A safe hiding place where she can seek warmth during bad weather or cold temperatures. * Their daily portion of food and a place where they have access to fresh water * A location where they can be kept indoors for a while to get used to their new environment. Price: Voluntary contribution Animal type: Cat Gender: Female Age: 15.05.

About Zaz

What life with Zaz looks like

Zaz is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst in Belgium.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zaz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zaz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zaz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zaz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zaz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zaz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zaz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
