Zelda

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Hello everyone, Zelda here! Potter has already had his turn, so now it's my turn. Honestly, that was necessary because he always takes the spotlight. Typical Potter. I'm Zelda, a beautiful lady with a sweet nature. And modest, you can see that right away. We were bottle-fed, so we love people. And dogs and other cats, too. I'm not picky — I'm just sociable, that's different. I would love to have a playmate in my new home. Or moving with my brother or sister is also fine, because together is always better than alone. And yes, that's true. Even though I run after them all day. That's love. I also love playing and eating wet food. You can set your clock to this: when it's time for wet food, we're already jumping for it. Our foster mom really has to run, you know, because we don't like dawdling. She thinks she's giving us food. We know better. I love playing with balls, mice, and feathers. Preferably all three at once. Are you already in love? Then I know enough. Fill out that adoption form quickly — and write my name clearly, because otherwise they'll think you're coming for Potter. And you don't want that. Potter is fun, but Zelda is Zelda. Xx Zelda P.S. Wet food at 17:00. I'll let you know.

NL·Show original

Hallo allemaal, Zelda hier!

About Zelda

What life with Zelda looks like

Zelda is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Zwerfkat in Belgium.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zelda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zelda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Zwerfkat handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zelda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zelda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Zwerfkat will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zelda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zelda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Zwerfkat early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zelda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
