Name: Zelda Breed: Setter Mix Date of Birth: 05.06.2023 Gender: Female Weight: 13.1 kg Height at withers: 36 cm Health Status: Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped Location: 80935 Munich Character: We’d like to introduce you to Zelda. She’s a beautiful, lively dog girl who has been incredibly affectionate from day one. She has no issues living with the second dog at her foster home, nor does she have any problems with car rides. She still needs a bit more practice when it comes to being left alone. She walks nicely on the leash and isn’t bothered by passing cars. She doesn’t like cyclists, and some joggers also make her wary. Zelda loves spending time in the garden and happily takes quick laps there. It would therefore be ideal if her future home had a garden. She’d be a great fit for families as well as single individuals—she’d even make an excellent second dog. Zelda still needs training, so people with experience handling dogs would be particularly helpful. Who feels drawn to Zelda? Who could imagine life together with this little lady? We’re looking for loving people who are ready to devote themselves fully to her, continue her training, and provide her with security and plenty of time throughout her life. We’d love to hear from anyone interested in Zelda. She can be met in Munich. Contact via Nese 📞

Name: Zelda Rasse: Setter Mix Geb.: 05.06.2023 Geschlecht: Mädchen Gewicht: 13,r kg SH: 36 cm Gesundheitszustand: kastriert, geimpft, gechipt Aufenthaltsort: 80935 München Charakter: Wir stellen Zelda vor.

About Zelda

What life with Zelda looks like

Zelda is a young adult dog waiting at Tierheim Starnberg in Starnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zelda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zelda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Starnberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zelda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zelda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Starnberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zelda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zelda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Starnberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zelda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
