Zente

Male · Adult · 5 years

This is a description of a dog from a Hungarian animal shelter. The dog is a black, fluffy, curly-tailed, and charming dog named ZENTE. He was found by animal lovers in the courtyard of the Government Office. As it turned out, ZENTE had been living as a stray for a long time and would visit a yard where he was loved and fed, but couldn't be taken in. We couldn't put a leash on him because he had never had a collar or leash before. The basically nice, friendly, people-oriented dog went completely wild at the sight of a leash and collar, and was almost frightened out of his wits, which was quite frightening given his size. We couldn't train him to walk on a leash, so we asked for the help of a dog trainer. Fortunately, ZENTE is very smart and quick to learn, so he quickly mastered the art of walking on a leash. He no longer chews on the leash or jumps on his walker. He has improved a lot and his attitude has improved. So if you see that he is loved, he is a very good dog. However, he currently only accepts one person, he is attached to him and cuddles him. We are looking for a dog trainer with experience for him. He needs a lot of positive experiences, exercise, and activities to become a perfect family dog, because he deserves to be loved and appreciated. He gets along well with his canine companions, inviting everyone to play. His heartworm test on January 31, 2022, was negative. He attended a 6-week training course at the Gödöllő Dog Sports Center from February 25 to April 9, 2022.

Ugye milyen gyönyörű? Ébenfekete, dús szőrű, lompos farkú, igéző tekintetű. Gazdája mégsem volt. A Kormányhivatal udvarán találták állatbarátok. 2026. 02. 25-től 04. 09-ig 6 hetes kiképzésen vett részt a Gödöllői Kutyasport Központban.

About Zente

What life with Zente looks like

Zente is a large adult dog waiting at Csabai Állatvédők Egyesülete in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zente, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zente?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Csabai Állatvédők Egyesülete handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zente on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zente if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Csabai Állatvédők Egyesülete will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zente already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zente isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Csabai Állatvédők Egyesülete early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zente and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
