Zero (catrame)

European Shorthair · Male

Spayed - fiv/felv negative. Zero appeared in a garden in Rivalta di Torino and never left from there, no one knew him and no one was looking for him, but sometimes he came back covered in tar from head to toe and cleaning him was always a mess... From there we chose his name (also in honor of the Italian cartoonist Zerocalcare!). Finally, since he could not continue to stay there, it was decided to take him in a cat shelter so that he could find a more suitable and safe placement. Unfortunately, he is suffering a lot from living with other cats which seem to not like him at all, for this reason he tends to stay aside and is very nervous. He urgently needs to find a home all for himself without the presence of other animals, so that he can finally relax... All this stress risks leading to health problems and we want as soon as possible to find a family that can give him peace! He is a nice and calm cat, at the moment he does not seem to be a super cuddler even though he appreciates some cuddles, but the situation does not help and once at home, once calmed down, he might change. He is already spayed and tested fiv/felv negative. Adopted safely after pre-adoption home visit. Adoption only in Turin and Province.

IT·Show original

Luigina 3409093431

About Zero (catrame)

What life with Zero (catrame) looks like

Zero (catrame) is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at L'Arca di Piera.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zero (catrame), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zero (catrame)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. L'Arca di Piera handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zero (catrame) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zero (catrame) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — L'Arca di Piera will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zero (catrame) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zero (catrame) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with L'Arca di Piera early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zero (catrame) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
