Zina (Зіна)

Collie · Female · Adult · 6 years

The mind of a border collie and the fluffiness of a collie - a combination that occurs once in a hundred cases. And this is me - an extremely good, incomparably smart, incredibly playful (and, of course, very modest) dog - Zina. Don't look at the simple name, it's compensation for a multifaceted personality. I came to the animal shelter with rescuers who pulled me out of a well where I had been stuck for several days. I tried to get out, but only chipped my nails and tore my paws. At first, I was very sad, crying and calling for help, but no one came, and after some time I almost lost my voice. Of course, there was no food, so I became very weak, and I even thought I would die without getting help. But, probably, the dog gods did decide to save me and sent people who were able to pull me out. My previous owners did not respond, so now I am looking for a family that will not let me end up in such a deadly trap again. Maybe it's you?

About Zina (Зіна)

What life with Zina (Зіна) looks like

Zina (Зіна) is a large adult collie dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇺🇦Adopting from Ukraine

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zina (Зіна), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zina (Зіна)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zina (Зіна) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zina (Зіна) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zina (Зіна) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zina (Зіна) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zina (Зіна) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
