ZINC

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

ZINC arrived at our shelter on November 18, 2025, from Licheń Stary. He was born around March 1, 2022. ZINC is a sensitive dog who is still a bit withdrawn, but unlike many fearful dogs, he seeks contact with humans. He approaches on his own, wants to be close, and is gradually opening up to his caregiver. It’s clear that he desperately needs a sense of security and someone he can trust. However, there are still situations that trigger his stress. ZINC has a problem with putting on and taking off the leash—he becomes unsure and scared when doing so. He is also learning to walk on the leash and is making small progress every day. He needs a calm, patient person who can show him that nothing bad will happen to him anymore. ZINC is a dog with enormous potential. With the right approach and calm work, he will surely become a wonderful, devoted companion. The animal shelter is a difficult place for him—noise, stress, and constant movement do not help him build self-confidence. That’s why we are looking for a home full of patience, peace, and love where ZINC can start a new, happy life by his person’s side.

Zinc trafił do Schroniska 18 listopada 2025 roku z miejscowości Licheń Stary.

About ZINC

What life with ZINC looks like

ZINC is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting ZINC, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ZINC?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ZINC on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ZINC if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ZINC already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ZINC isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know ZINC and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
