Zion

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

ZION is simply “lovable”! ZION, a Bodeguero-mix, is looking for his “forever home.” The young dog ZION was allowed to leave the Spanish animal shelter and travel to a foster home in Germany. ZION is an alert and sensitive little cuddle-bear. As befits his age, playing is extremely important to ZION. In his previous life, ZION didn’t get much opportunity to learn. As a result, he still has quite a bit of basic dog training to go through. But—ZION is eager to learn and please others. He’s already enthusiastically tackling exercises at the dog training ground. He’s “house-trained,” can be left alone for short periods, and travels comfortably in the car. Outdoors, he’s calm and composed. He loves being “always by your side,” shows a strong need for cuddles, and is full of affection. Playing is one of his great passions. Here, ZION still displays typical puppy behavior—being very curious and lively. After exhausting himself, though, he also knows how to relax nicely. ZION needs people by his side who will support him lovingly yet consistently and clearly. His “people” should positively reinforce ZION at every stage of his development and commit to accompanying him reliably. In principle, ZION wants to actively participate in the lives of his human family members and be kept mentally and physically stimulated. We’re looking for a permanent, loving home for ZION. Since he’s very social and tends to orient himself toward other dogs, it would be helpful if there were already a confident, experienced first dog waiting for him in his future home. If you’d like to accompany ZION reliably through all his future developmental stages and have a lifelong home ready for him, we’d be delighted to receive your inquiry. Adopting a rescue dog always means taking on special responsibility and can also be quite challenging. These dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you’re seriously interested in adopting ZION, please contact the responsible adoption coordinator at SALVA Hundehilfe. You’ll find the contact details below.

ZION is einfach nur „liebenswert“!

About Zion

What life with Zion looks like

Zion is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zion, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zion?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zion on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zion if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zion already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zion isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zion and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
