Zira

Female · Young · 1 year

Zira is looking for a temporary home with the possibility of a permanent one! Zira is a beautiful 5-year-old tortoiseshell cat. She is a friendly kitty who may seem a bit shy at first. She needs time to trust new people and feel safe. Once she gets to know her caregiver, she willingly approaches for petting and enjoys cuddling. She also likes playing with balls and spending time with her human. Zira used to live with other cats and dogs, so she can live in a home with already gentle animals. We are looking for a quiet, responsible and exclusively indoor home for her, without young children or with children over 12 years old, which will give her time to acclimate and allow her to open up at her own pace. Zira is under the care of OTOZ Animals Shelter in Tczew. The cat is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and neutered. Registration number at the shelter: 95/26 FIV/FeLV tests are negative. Contact for adoption: 58 531 96 56

Zira szuka domu tymczasowego z możliwością domu stałego! Zira to około 5-letnia kotka o przepięknym szylkretowym umaszczeniu. Numer ewidencyjny w schronisku: 95/26 Testy FIV/FeLV ujemne Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 58 531 96 56

About Zira

What life with Zira looks like

Zira is a young adult cat waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
