adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Zoe has found her forever home! Her story: Foundling Zoe is about five months old and had a rather difficult start in life, but was blessed with double happiness: she was rescued by a kind-hearted helper from the street, and was allowed to stay with her, thus sparing her the life in the shelter for now. And since, as they say, all good things come in threes, we hope very much that her third piece of luck – her perfect match – won't be long in coming. At first meeting, the friendly Zoe is still a bit shy, but once she realizes that you mean her well, her playful and curious side comes out. It's hard to believe how quickly cautious reserve turns into genuine joy. She gets along well with fellow animals and really likes everyone, whether big or small. Even towards cats, she is open and shows no signs of fear. Zoe's fur is predominantly black and fluffy, charmingly complemented by her spotted paws. Like all our wonderful strays, she is a true one-of-a-kind – a colorful mix of many great genes. While we wouldn't entirely rule out something hound-like in her extensive family tree based on her looks, we can't be sure. Currently weighing around 12 kg, she will likely grow to be of medium size. We are looking for a home for Zoe that enjoys movement, likes to be outdoors in nature, and has a desire to explore the world with an energetic female dog. Zoe not only wants to be physically challenged but also mentally stimulated – puzzle games, small tasks, or perhaps even dog sports could be just her thing. Zoe is in the exciting puppy phase and wants to learn. She needs people who can teach her the family dog ABC with lots of time and patience. The upcoming challenging pubertal phase is also on the horizon – an exciting time when she becomes more self-assured and her personality continues to grow. It's important to accompany her with love and consistency to give her the necessary orientation. She is not yet spayed due to its age. Who will give the charming Zoe a home where she can be happy? A foster home would also be a huge help. Many thanks, Angelina, for taking on her namesship. As of: 06.10. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 06.10.2025

About Zoe

What life with Zoe looks like

Zoe is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zoe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zoe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zoe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zoe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zoe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zoe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zoe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
