Adopt Zola (vermittelt)

Female · Puppy · 5 months

In the ages provided here, it often involves estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Zola Born November 2017, Female, Mix Breed, Small remaining in foster home. Zola has now also found a wonderful new home. We wish Zola and her new guardian a fun, happy, and especially worry-free time together. …our little giraffe child has grown into a beautiful young lady. This little family was picked up by animal rescuers on Crete. Fortunately, help was found quickly, and they could move into a foster home….it’s now winter on Crete, it rains a lot, and temperatures are dropping to zero—-the little ones wouldn’t have survived long. There are 5 puppies (3 boys and two girls), approximately 1.5 months old and remaining small. All have been seen by a vet and received their first vaccination. The mom, Zoeye, tested negative for leishmaniasis. As the puppies are already eating on their own, Zoeye will be neutered as soon as possible and then ready to travel. The puppies are expected to be travel-ready by the end of March. Maybe someone will fall in love at first sight? ;)? Then get to the keyboard as soon as possible!!! The little sugar-nose Zola lives on her foster home with 4 other adult dogs and cats. She is an open and typical-for-her-age playful little puppy-dame, already house-trained when humans regularly take her outside. She loves extensive cuddle sessions and always wants to be very close to her human. Outdoors, she is very attentive and curious and already runs well on the leash. Zola is a smart little mouse who learns very quickly. Who wants to work on the puppy dog basics with a happy, exuberant puppy? Here are a few pictures. Click an image to enlarge.

About Zola (vermittelt)

What life with Zola (vermittelt) looks like

Zola (vermittelt) is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zola (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zola (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zola (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zola (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zola (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zola (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zola (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
