Adopt Zsálya

Mixed Breed · Female

Zsálya can be said to have found a guardian in record time, but this is not surprising, as it is a very kind dog. The family chose another of our rescues today. Zsálya was born in October 2020, its background unknown. It was wandering around Zsámbok when our volunteers came across it. Zsálya has already been adopted by us once, but it turned out that its needs and what the guardian could offer were not compatible. Now we hope that the right active owner will come along, someone who will happily channel all of Zsálya's energy. Zsálya is a really energetic personality that feels best outdoors, during walks. It loves to run around, very active dog. Young, playful, always moving, its character makes it a true individual. It's a bit of a "goes its own way" type, but once it has sniffed around during the walk, it notices the person on the other end of the leash and snuggles up to them, thanking for the care. It is impossible to feel sad alongside it; its cheerful, curious nature brings a smile to our faces even during walks. It's a joy to watch this dog enjoy life. It would be great if every day it could have the care and attention of a guardian. If you feel you are the one who can give this to it, don't hesitate, contact us at the phone number.

About Zsálya

What life with Zsálya looks like

Zsálya is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zsálya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zsálya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zsálya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zsálya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zsálya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zsálya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zsálya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
