After their subsequent separation, the dog remained with the man, where her living conditions deteriorated dramatically. In summer 2025, photos indicated severe neglect. After much hesitation on the part of the owner, a home visit was finally arranged, confirming these suspicions. In March 2026, we took Zsömi back into our care. Her condition was critical: weighing only 16 kg, she was severely emaciated and showed extensive hair loss on her back. A veterinary examination the following day—including a blood test and Hungarian profile—revealed a symptom-free but positive result for Babesia. Today, three months later, Zsömi has fought her way back to life! Thanks to the loving care at her foster home, she has gained over 4 kg. The Babesia infection has been successfully treated, and her coat is slowly growing back—but whether it will ever regain its former fullness remains to be seen. Even more important, however, is her spirit: Zsömi has blossomed into an alert, cheerful, and extremely eager-to-learn dog. After all the hardships she’s endured, Zsömi is now ready to pack her bags for a forever home. Where can she finally find her new home? Nach der späteren Trennung verblieb die Hündin bei dem Mann, wo sich ihre Haltungsbedingungen massiv verschlechterten. Im Sommer 2025 ließen Fotos auf eine starke Vernachlässigung schließen. Nach langem Zögern des Halters konnte schließlich ein Hausbesuch durchgeführt werden, der den Verdacht bestätigte. Im März 2026 holten wir Zsömi zu uns zurück. Ihr Zustand war kritisch: Bei einem Gewicht von nur 16 kg war sie stark abgemagert und wies großflächigen Haarausfall am Rücken auf. Eine tierärztliche Untersuchung am Folgetag inklusive Blutbild und Ungarnprofil ergab einen symptomfreien, aber positiven Befund auf Babesien. Heute, drei Monate später, hat sich Zsömi ins Leben zurückgekämpft! Dank der liebevollen Pflege in ihrer Pflegestelle hat sie über 4 kg zugenommen. Die Babesien wurden erfolgreich behandelt und auch ihr Fell wächst langsam nach – ob es je wieder ganz die alte Fülle erreicht, wird die Zeit zeigen. Viel wichtiger ist jedoch ihre Seele: Zsömi hat sich zu einer aufgeweckten, fröhlichen und extrem lernbereiten Hündin entwickelt.
