Xina

European Shorthair · Female

Xina originally lived together with Xana and Xara on a farm. There, they were not cared for very well, which is why they were surrendered to us. When she arrived with us, she had a very large tumor on her side, which was successfully operated on in the meantime. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a malignant soft tissue tumor. This type of tumor can repeatedly form under the skin in the soft tissues. Whether, when, and how often these nodules will form cannot be predicted. However, the likelihood is high. When this happens, it grows very quickly and spreads. Organs are not affected. For Xina, who is very sociable toward other cats, we are therefore looking for people who are willing to take in a sick cat and who expect that new growths may form quickly again. Perhaps there is also someone who is well-versed in this? In any case, Xina is to be kept as an indoor house cat. If you have any questions about Xina, please simply call the foster home. In a personal conversation, Xina's future life, her illness, and her future care can be discussed. Fam. Beck Tel.: E-Mail: ./.

DE·Show original

Fam. Beck Tel. : E-Mail: . /.

About Xina

What life with Xina looks like

Xina is an extra-large adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tiere in Not Saar e.V. in Saarbrücken.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Xina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Xina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiere in Not Saar e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Xina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Xina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiere in Not Saar e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Xina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Xina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiere in Not Saar e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Xina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
