Zulus

Mixed Breed · Female

One meeting with Zuluse and his heart will steal a human's. This small but charming gentleman dog is searching for a place where he can settle down permanently. Zuluse's prominent ears and energetically curved tail are his distinctive markings. In addition to his unique coloring and soft fur that begs to be stroked endlessly, Zuluse also has an extraordinary personality—hard to describe in words; one must meet him personally—we strongly encourage it! Zulus loves going for walks. As soon as he enters his kennel, he starts jumping and doing acrobatic leaps to encourage faster leash attachment and getting outside. After all, how long can one wait for that desired walk! Zulus's walk pace is just right—neither too slow nor too fast. There's no boredom, but every bush that should be sniffed will be thoroughly investigated. Upon returning from a walk, when he's left to be in his kennel, Zulus always reminds the volunteers of his presence by barking loudly and demanding delicious treats. In interactions with other dogs, Zulus is not very friendly. However, he gets along very well with puppies. We therefore believe he could live with a puppy. Zulus is strongly recommended for adoption!

PL·Show original

Wystarczy jedno spotkanie z Zulusem, by skradł człowiekowi serce. Ten niewielkich rozmiarów sympatyczny kawaler szuka miejsca, w którym mógłby zakotwiczyć już na stałe. Sterczące uszka i zadziornie zakręcony ogonek to znaki rozpoznawcze Zuluska.

About Zulus

What life with Zulus looks like

Zulus is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zulus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zulus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zulus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zulus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zulus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zulus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zulus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
