🐾 Mendi – who will finally give this brave female dog a loving home? 🐾 Mendi is a beautiful Deutsch Kurzhaar female dog, born in June 2022, about 60 cm tall and currently weighing only 22 kg. She is an extremely friendly and people-oriented female dog who enjoys every bit of affection and forms close bonds with her trusted people. However, her past has left marks: Mendi has given birth multiple times, which can still be seen today in her elongated nipples. According to her previous owners, she had difficulties interacting with other dogs and was likely involved in several conflicts – this is also indicated by old scars around her muzzle. All the more remarkable it is that she currently shows social behavior at our animal shelter and lives peacefully with male dog Csoki. Nevertheless, we wish for Mendi a home as a single female dog where she can finally rest and no longer has to fight – neither physically nor emotionally. She already masters walking on the leash well. Health-wise, the following should be noted: Mendi tested positive for Anaplasmosis in November 2025 but showed no symptoms at any point and was treated with Doxycycline for 14 days. Unfortunately, during our last visit at the end of April, we had to notice that Mendi visibly lost weight. The stress and confinement of the shelter routine take a heavy toll on this sensitive female dog. Therefore, we urgently wish that she can leave soon and have the chance to recover in a quiet, loving environment. For Mendi, we seek a stable, loving home – ideally with people who have experience handling hunting dogs or sensitive dogs. People who will gently rebuild her confidence, provide her with security, and show her how wonderful a worry-free life can be. Mendi has been through so much – now it’s time for her to be loved and cared for. Who will open their hearts to this faithful soul? We are happy to answer all questions. This is a puppy.

About 👉 Zurück

What life with 👉 Zurück looks like

👉 Zurück is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting 👉 Zurück, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about 👉 Zurück?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw 👉 Zurück on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt 👉 Zurück if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is 👉 Zurück already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if 👉 Zurück isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know 👉 Zurück and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
