Cristina je středně velký až velký kříženec, narozený v únoru 2023. Cristina byla zachráněna jako štěňátko z ulic Crevedie v Rumunsku. Přijela do Velké Británie v září 2023 a byla rychle přijata, ale byla vrácena po několika týdnech, protože neměla dobrý vztah k muži v tomto domě. Cristina byla stará o muže ve Švýcarsku a také v současném pečovatelském domě je muž, s oběma se dobře vede. Cristina žila s kočkou a malým dítětem v tomto domě a ráda s nimi hrála, ale někdy byla „trochu moc“ protože je nešikovná a nadšená. Je to laskavá a věrná holka pro ty, které má ráda. Může výhodně využít individuální trénink ke snížení tohoto nadšení, ale my si ji opravdu užíváme! Je to nohavice, nešikovná, milá hlupáčka, která potřebuje jen trochu času. Ráda chodí na procházky a chová se dobře venku, ale může být opatrná vůči lidem, kteří vstupují do jejího domu. Cristina má ráda hraní s ostatními psy ve svém pečovatelském domě, ale pokud v domě bude další pes nebo psi, museli by být sebejistí, protože by byla pro rezervovanějšího pса příliš. Mohla by žít i jako jediný pes, pokud dostane dostatek cvičení a stimulace. Cristina potřebuje zkušeného majitele, je hodně, ale je také velmi zábavná a příjemná. Není pro každého, ale pro správnou osobu bude pes, kterého nikdy zapomenete. Cristina byla v péči Norwich Norfolk. Podmínky adopce Pokud adopujete psa z Safe Rescue, musíte použít klackový řetěz. Udrží vašeho psa v bezpečí: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vás důvěřovat, a vy nebudete vědět, které situace mohou psa rozrušit. Pokud pes zpanikaří, klackový řetěz je jediný způsob, jak zabránit uniknutí psa (mnoho psů může uniknout ze šlehače a/ nebo sedačky). Bude potřeba NEJMÉNĚ 3-6 měsíců, aby se pes osadil a abyste plně poznali svého psa (déle pro nervózní psy). Klackový řetěz musí být VŽDY použit během tohoto období osazení. I poté, co pes osadí, je nejbezpečnější použít klackový řetěz v situacích, kde pes může být strachy (např. návštěva nových míst, kolem neznámých lidí, u veterináře), a v situacích, kde mohou nastat neočekávané podněty (např. kolem svátku ohňů). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit klackový řetěz jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Klackový řetěz je bezpečnostní zařízení a NESMÍ být nikdy použit jako nástroj tréninku. Použití řetězu k aplikaci tlaku na krk psa je škodlivé. Pokud pes tahá za řetěz, můžeme vám poradit s tréninkovými metodami, které se nevyhnete škodě. Jakmile bude pes osazen, možná budete chtít zvážit použití sedačky (spolu s klackovým řetězem), pokud pes toleruje manipulaci, když je nasazen. Většina sedaček není unikací odolná, ale sedačky s řemínkem za žeber (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit sedačky) jsou bezpečnější. Retrakční / prodlužovací řetězy nikdy nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adopované psy musí být sbírány z ochranného ústavu a dopraveny rovnou domů v bezpečné ocelové bedně. She came to the UK September 2023 and was quickly adopted but was returned after a few weeks because she didn’t have a good relationship with the man in that household. Cristina was cared for by a man in Romania and there is also a man in her current foster home, both of which she gets on well with. Cristina lived with a cat and a small child in that home and loved playing with them but sometimes got “a bit much” as she’s clumsy and enthusiastic. She is a sweet and loyal girl with those she loves. She would benefit from one to one training to curb that enthusiasm, but we quite like her zest for life! She is a leggy, clutzy, lovable fool who just needs a little time invested in her. She loves her walks and is well behaved out and about but can be wary of people she doesn’t know entering her home. Cristina is loving playing with the other dogs in her foster but would need any other dog or dogs in the household to be confident as she’d be too much for a more reserved character. She but could live as an only dog if sufficiently exercised and stimulated. Cristina needs an experienced owner, she’s a lot but she’s also great fun and so comical. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
